The shale gas revolution in the U.S. is ushering in a game-changing transformation in the nation’s transportation fuels. Fleet owners can now turn to natural gas as a low price fuel alternative that offers considerable operating cost advantages for the future. The integration of natural gas vehicles into to the nation’s fleets, however, will be closely tied to the development of a refueling infrastructure to support this integration.Infrastructure development is where the rubber hits the road. And, above all, the success of this national build out will require close coordination between fleet owners and CNG and LNG infrastructure developers. The Natural Gas Vehicle Fleet & Infrastructure Summit is the place to accelerate this coordination. It will bring together fleet managers and infrastructure developers to meet, exchange perspectives and actually push infrastructure projects forward.

The Natural Gas Vehicle Fleet & Infrastructure Summit will be the great interconnection point between fleet owners and infrastructure developers. Don’t miss this opportunity to take part in the natural gas vehicle fleet and infrastructure event of the year!

Over the past year, cyber security of the emerging smart grid network has become a top priority for utilities. More than just deployment of point solutions, securing the smart grid must be an end-to-end undertaking that encompasses all facets of IT, OT, ICS, communications and infrastructure. Introducing intelligence and two-way communication into the utility network means opening the door to vulnerability, and utilities must proceed with caution.

To help utilities meet this challenge, the Smart Grid Observer will host a Smart Grid Cyber Security Virtual Summit on Thursday, May 23, 2013. The 100% online event will feature a series of in-depth presentations and live Q&A with industry experts, designed to examine the latest technologies, deployment strategies, best practices, and lessons learned in achieving smart grid cyber security.

Questions to be addressed at Smart Grid Cyber Security Virtual Summit include:

Where are the most significant weak points in the smart grid’s security? How should we address them?

What is the current nature of the cyber security threat? What do we really need to worry about?

What are the latest NERC CIP requirements and how best to comply?

What are the key technology enablers and advances for smart grid cyber security?

What are the critical lessons we’ve learned to date regarding smart grid security, and how do we apply them?

What are the best strategies for securing AMI?

How can utilities effectively go about securing software and embedded devices for the smart grid?

The 100% online format of the Smart Grid Cyber Security Virtual Summit enables industry professionals from around the world to attend sessions easily and conveniently. Powered by the Cisco WebEx platform, the format of the Online Summit ensures interaction among attendees and presenters, for a unique, cost-effective, and in-depth learning experience.

Smart grids appear to offer some promising solutions for the future. Based on the existing infrastructure, smart grids will help us meet specific network management objectives by capitalizing on ICTs (information and communication technologies). The aim of smart grids is to respond to changing energy use and new ways of using energy, to secure the network and to improve the integration of intermittent REs (renewable energy sources) as safely as possible and in the best possible economic conditions.”

SG PARIS 2013, the benchmark trade show for the Smart Grids sector, held in the city of Paris, will open its doors for this, the 3rd edition, from June 4th to 6th. We will tackle the sector’s hottest topics, examining key issues that affect the industry both up- and down-stream of smart meters: production, transmission and distribution of electricity on the one hand and consumer services on the other. 1750 people attended last year’s show, actively following the 3-day event at which 220 speakers shared their expertise and 50 exhibitors presented their skills and innovations.

San Francisco, California

Anaerobic digestion (AD) is the solution to many peoples’ problems. By bacterial breakdown of organic waste without oxygen, we can produce renewable biogas and a high grade inert fertiliser. The USA produces a huge quantity of waste. Coupling this with the drive of municipalities and large food producers to send no organic waste to landfill, the resource is remarkably abundant. The market is growing, and the technology is developing. This traction is even leading Waste Water Treatment Facilities to look at how to utilize their AD as a revenue stream.

Features of the Anaerobic Digestion & Biogas Conference

GET FINANCE FROM INVESTORS by hearing case studies of successful investments which prove commercial viability & long term ROI to potential investors.

MAKE YOUR ANAEROBIC DIGESTION PROJECT COMMERCIALLY VIABLE by maximizing the value from all revenue streams including fertiliser, gas, CHP and electricity. Understand tipping fee economics and exploit your energy credits.

UTILIZE A VARIETY OF FEEDSTOCKS FOR BIOGAS SUCCESS by securing long-term feedstock agreements from sorted organic waste & draw higher yields.

SET UP OPERATIONS & INFRASTRUCTURE with big or small anaerobic digesters in the best locations to drive down costs and combat the NIMBY problem.

REGULATIONS & PERMITTING Fast track your application and reduce costs by learning what to include in your pitch to agencies.
